FAQs

Feedback can feel complicated before you begin. These FAQs are here to remove friction, clear up uncertainty, and help you decide what’s right for you, your team, or your organization. If something isn’t answered here, we’re always happy to talk it through.

The WTF–What the Feedback Program combines expert-led skills development with a one-of-a-kind learning community to help professionals master the art of giving and receiving feedback.

At its core are two live, interactive courses—Giving Productive Feedback and Receiving Feedback Non‑Defensively—each designed to build confidence, skill, and ease in workplace feedback conversations. Every course runs eight hours, delivered in two consecutive four‑hour sessions, referred to as blocks, on weekdays.

Full attendance for both sessions is required to ensure participants get the complete learning experience and achieve the intended outcomes. The sessions are designed as a single, cohesive experience, so attendance cannot be split across months.

Beyond the classroom experience, participants gain exclusive access to the Wow‑Feedback Forum—a private space where alumni crowdsource feedback challenges, exchange insights, and support one another on the journey toward feedback mastery. The forum offers skill refreshers, new tools, and invitations to special community events designed to keep members inspired and continuously improving.

The WTF-What the Feedback Program is designed for anyone who wants clearer, more productive feedback conversations.

It is valuable for leaders and managers, individual contributors, teams working cross functionally, and organizations building stronger feedback cultures.

Whether you are giving feedback, receiving it, or avoiding it altogether, this program meets people where they are and helps build confidence, clarity, and trust in everyday conversations.

WTF-What the Feedback focuses on what most feedback training misses. The human side of the conversation. Instead of scripts, theory, or one size fits all advice, this program builds real skill through awareness, practice, and application. Participants learn by doing, not by memorizing. The course is designed as a learning lab. A place to practice giving and receiving feedback in real scenarios, build emotional agility, and strengthen confidence without pressure to be perfect. This is where SKWILLPOWER develops through use, not polish. WTF addresses both sides of feedback mastery. Giving feedback clearly and productively, and receiving feedback without defensiveness. Together, these skills create trust, accountability, and momentum that last well beyond the session. That is what makes WTF different. It works because it is practical, human, and built for real work conversations.

Yes, the courses are to be taken in order: Course One Giving Productive Feedback and then Course Two Receiving Feedback Without Defensiveness. We recommend a minimum of three months between courses to enable the learner to get meaningful practical traction on the skills developed in Course One.

Public courses are available in a virtual format. We can also bring this training to your team live/onsite.

Each session is live and highly interactive. Participants work in breakout groups using video and audio for roleplays and real-time skill practice.

Each participant should sign in using their own computer and headset (not a shared device). This ensures everyone can fully participate in the breakout activities.

Yes, if you’re in a quiet, private space where you won’t be disturbed and no one else can overhear or view the session.

This program is a “learning lab,” not a “perfection palace.” Participants need to feel safe to experiment, share experiences, and refine their skills without outside observation. Even brief interruptions or eavesdropping can diminish that sense of trust and freedom.

We can deliver a course virtually or live/onsite to your team or organization. When bringing the program to your team or organization you have the benefit of customizing certain elements to your specific organizational/team need.

It’s how we both give back and “feed-forward” by providing free feedback coaching every first Friday of the month, 9-10 am CST. Bring your messy, sticky and challenging feedback issues and gain actionable expert tools, rules, and little jewels to help you deliver feedback that works.

Founded by experience

WTF-What the Feedback was created by Kim Baker after years of working with leaders, teams, and organizations where feedback was consistently the breaking point — not because people didn’t care, but because they weren’t taught how to do it well.

After training thousands of professionals and facilitating conversations where trust was on the line, one truth became clear: feedback is the fastest way to build trust — and the quickest way to lose it.

This program is the result.
